July of last year, I nuked my wallet and ordered a #LeicaQ3 . Yesterday, it arrived :)

Well, the Proton Mail thing was short lived, doesn’t quite feel fully baked yet. Trying out Hey! as well but I am getting the feeling that I am trying to solve a problem that I don’t actually have.
Ordered the “All Star Turkey Sandwich” from the kids menu because I wanted a smaller portion of food. Figured the “all star” parts was more of a “hey sport” or “little slugger” reference … then this showed up. Plus side, the proportions where spot on and it was tasty. Still.
Finally giving in to the feeling of intrigue around Proton services and feeling it all out. The idea of switching email providers is daunting but I feel like it might be a good time, really think about it and set it up for success. Can’t shake the feeling that there really is something there.
Red wine, Lucky Charms (sans milk), jazz and an electric fireplace with the flames running backward (can’t make this up). Yeah, I’m working late.
Think I just spent 90 minutes composing a single email message.
Amazing how “at home” and happy I feel as soon as I’m topside in NYC. Shame it’s such a short visit this time. One day I’ll figure out how to live here long term.
Hopping from meeting to meeting to meeting today, right up to the end. Midway through the last, Dylan playing in the background, looked to the chair on my right to see Juno the kitten zonked out without a care in the world. Suddenly felt calm and peaceful. Good way to end the day.
2024 … game on.
Tom Smothers made me realize there was more to a yo-yo than just “up and down”. While only ever to pick up the basics, I still have my YoYo Man yo-yo. Worn and glued back together, several strings later. The world is less cool now.
Configuring DNS can be such a pain in butt.
When you accidentally flip open your EDC pen in your pocket, breaking the metal tip off enabling the entire tube of ink to drain into said pocket. Might actually be salvageable so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
It’s strange to wake up having such strong feelings for someone that you met in your dreams, someone that existed for a few short hours while you slept, someone that fades with every moment of wakefulness.
At that pointing where I would gladly pay more for technology that did fewer things reliably well than something more robust with mediocre to poor results. Why the hell do we accept this over hyped garbage experience?
Buy a thing online, opt out of promotional offers. Receive a confirmation / receipt of the order in my inbox … immediately followed by a promotional offer. Tis the season to ignore user preference.
A grey Sunday morning of lingering dreams and the sound of rain. Mrs Potter’s Lullaby by the Counting Crows at home in my head, “if dreams are like movies, then memories are films about ghosts”. Put it together and it all feels right, fitting in some way.
The most unrealistic part of Star Trek is that the tech consistently works.
“Shield up. Red alert. Arm the photon torpedos.”
“Hold on Captain … the starfleet.shields.helper service is hung, CPU pegged. “
“…”
“Gotta force quit the service, maybe restart. Shields should be up in about 45 seconds.”
Juno is not overly impressed with #Caturday so far. Might be time to see what kitty’s first Xmas tree does to her mood. Fingers crossed she doesn’t kill her self with it.
Hannah Waddingham, holy shit. That’s all.
There are few things as cinematically satisfying as the Ark of the Covenant taking out an entire island gathering of nazis in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Annual viewing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show complete …
with wisdom …
“Don’t Dream it, be it!”
and truth …
“And crawling on the planet’s face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space
And meaning.”
Was a total Starbucks fan when they landed in the area several years back. Been on the outs lately, taste and vibe changing. Today, I’m told the toasted white mocha didn’t makes the cut this holiday season. Final nail in the Starbucks coffin for this dude.
Was making breakfast in a relatively normal dream with one exception, the extra dimensional toaster. Single slot, infinite load, balanced toasting, perfectly timed ejection. It was unassuming yet beautiful. Subtle #SciFiSunday
Really wish you could set the default view of the App Library in iOS to the alpha sorted list view.
Tonight, while showering, Juno the cat decided to turn my Hamilton Titanium Automatic wrist watch into a kitty toy. No longer on the nightstand, I found it a third of the way down the stairs, luckily unharmeded. Cat’s got expensive taste in playthings.
